I am super excited for the 2nd leg of A*mei Zhang Hui Mei’s Star Tour! This time the Taiwanese Pop Diva will be travelling to North America and Japan, and also Singapore (again)!! Tickets are already on sale for these performances, including the Singapore show, which started at 9 this morning! And of course, I have gotten my tickets already! Hopefully the A34 side will be the side she faces more often this time round (she faced the A15 side more last year, and thankfully I was on that side!). Oh yes, the concert will be held on 4th October (Sat) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium!

Anyway, I hope the setlist will be slightly altered this time round to make the show even more exciting, and probably her alter-ego thing, Amit, will show up as well, like what happened at the 19th Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan just a few weeks ago. This time I will try to take less pictures so that I can enjoy the concert even more, and also will bring more cash to get some of the tour merchandise!!!

For the North America leg of her tour, she will be performing at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe/ Harveys Outdoor Arena on 19th July, and also River Rock Show Theatre on 22nd July. In Japan, she will be having shows in the ACT Theatre on 22nd and 23rd September!! I think the performances at these places will be spectacular!

As much as I do not really agree with the record company for releasing this song as Mariah’s 3rd single, I’ll Be Loving You A Long Time sounded quite nice live, at least at the the Japan MTV VMAs.

Anyway, I really disgusted with how Bye Bye has been promoted, if there were actually promotions done for it at all. A potential hit that sort of vapourised… Hope that the future singles from E=MC2 will do well.

A*Mei just completed her first performance in a Japanese Musical “Turandot” yesterday in Tokyo, and heard it was very successful!! I want to fly to Japan to watch her too, if I am not having examinations at his point of time. Anyway, below are some pictures of her in the musical. And she looks stunningly beautiful!

In addition, there is news there she may hold concerts in Japan after the end of the musical. And her “Star World Tour” Concert DVD will be released on Blu-ray DVD in May. So looking forward to it!! Also, she is supposedly remaining in EMI Music Taiwan, as opposed to rumours saying that she might return to Warner Music. However, there is also news that EMI is scrapping its Asia branches. Not sure how true it is, but we shall see.

This has got to be my favourite Japanese show of all-time! It is hilarious and serious at the same time. Some background about the show: it is a story about 2 musicians (mainly) - Chiaki and Nodame - who met each other at a music academy in Japan. The former is a talented aspiring conductor played by Hiroshi Tamaki, while the other is a talented pianist, played by Juri Ueno. Can’t really describe the whole story since I watched it last year; I just watched a TV special, “Nodame In Europe” though, which is a continuation of what happened in the TV series, which was quite a hit in Japan as well.

I love the way the story is depicted, with much exaggeration, comedy, as well as seriousness. There are quite a number of scenes whereby you would only think it will happen in cartoons, for instance, bits like a main character kicking another here and there, without causing injuries and all. In addition, the serious bits were well inter-woven in the midst of the comedy, making sure that the audience also learn something out of the show I guess. Songs (classical) that are used in the show are explained and analysed (not sure if they are really true, though it sounds true) as the story goes along.

Watching this show really rekindled my interest in Music. And like Nodame, I think I am quite old to pursue my musical interests (but she is talented, unlike me….). Sort of got inspired to conduct as well. Well, dreams are just dreams sometimes. Hopefully I succed in getting a music minor at the minimum!
