Toru Takemitsu: Arc & Green
Today happens to be the last day to use my Borders’ discount voucher, so while browsing through the music department, as opposed to the “books” department, I came across Toru Takemitsu’s Arc & Green, performed by the London Sinfonietta! It’s one of the titles I had been wanting to purchase online for the past few months!
Modern music has always fascinated me some how or some way, because of the way it is. I do not really know how to describe it, but contemporary works are just intriguing sometimes, and while we do like nice chords, it’s quite exciting to hear notes that are just out of place once in a while- kind of reflects the world we live in also.
Anyway, I did not know Borders carries such amazing music collection – there was even Gyorgy Ligeti, Poulenc etc., some which I did not manage to find at HMV. Alright, I guess I shall visit Borders soon to get more music!
