Lightyears

My favourite games since young would be those of the Street Fighter series. Finally, Capcom is releasing another title from the Street Fighter franchise! I cannot wait to lay my hands on a copy of Street Fighter 4. It has been quite a while since I played games, be it on consoles or computers, not that I play much computer games anyway (except Simcity, The Sims etc.). So far I have not seen or read anything about SF4 (other than the trailer), though I wanted to get a copy of EGM (dec) since they had a “first look” at the above-mentioned game.

It’s back to school again this week! I hope it will be an exciting semester, since there will be concerts and events which I will be part of, not to the mention the interesting modules I will be taking, like Marketing and Japanese Music (if I get through the auditions). It would be a great time to test my time management skills again, and hopefully my CGPA will increase this semester too!

On another note, I will have to see my room-mate again. Considering that he is in the same course of study as me, one would usually think it would be a good thing. Not for me though, at least not after what I went through last semester. For the past 21 years of my life I have never met someone who’s ego is so big, and think he knows a lot of things. I thought he would be a good room-mate, but obviously it did not really turn out alright.

Firstly, for hostel allocation, he told me to choose that with no air-conditioner so as to save money. A few weeks later into the semester, he suddenly having thoughts of moving into the ones with air-conditioners and such, and was telling people I made the decision!! My goodness! I would have preferred an air-conditioned room too, and you are like blaming me for not choosing them?! Furthermore, whenever I have to stay back over the weekends to do extra-curricular activities, he tells me I have a sad life! Like just shut up already! I paid money to stay in hall, and I wanted to go abroad intitally for my studies and not stay with you, so staying in hostel is not SAD mind you. I would rather save my transport cost, unlike you, who do not even stay in for consecutive 4 nights! You are the SAD one ok?! So much for saving/ cutting costs. I think you must be some millionaire in disguise. A not very respectable one I assume.

Next, I cannot understand why he cannot live his own life and let me live mine. It is extremely irritating to have someone say something like “Wow, you’re finally back” or “So happening ar” when you return to the room quite late at night. And did I mention he does it like 90% of the time, not to mention he did that just last night too! In addition, he has to make comments about the modules I choose, and always like to talk, or rather, brag about himself. Moreover, when I actually get some time to study, he tells everyone I am a mugger. I am fine with that label, but I would prefer to be called a nerd, since nerds are cool too. Like helloooo! He is the one that does the mugging 90% of the time while I am either at meetings or choir practices. And he is the one who said he just wants a 2nd Upper for honours and what did he get for his Semester 1 results? A 4.5!! What did I get, a 4.0! And stop trying to put me down so that you can feel good about yourself. It doesn’t work on me! Oh no, I really sound like I am bitching right now…

Thirdly… I think I shouldn’t talk about him anymore.

 The moral of the story: Do not stay with someone whom you do not really know very well. Such mistakes are bad both in the short and long run. However, I have heard that good friends also do not go along very well as room-mates. Looking back, I think I should have considered more options before applying with him for a room. Well, last semester as room-mates (hopefully).

 Here’s to a great semester, and an amazing new year!

Happy New Year to everyone! It has been quite start. It started off with a dinner with my ex-classmates on New Year’s eve. Towards the end of the dinner, I received an SMS from my sister that my Grandmother fell and was sent to the hospital! Obviously I rushed down to the hospital, irregardless of the expensive cab fare. On reaching the hospital, I found out that she fractured her hip-bone and it was recommended that she should undergo surgery for quicker recovery and such. And so, it became the first time I counted down in a hospital. I would have just slept through the night anyway. Ok, I sound quite unfilial at this point of time. Back to my grandmother… She went for surgery the next day and fortunately she is fine now! Thank God for doctors who work on public holidays!

I suddenly feel quite bad about not being by her side when she was/is hospitalised. When I was young, she would usually keep me company overnight when I was hospitalised. Sigh.
