It has been almost a year, I think, since I bought a new pair of jeans, the last time being on my 20th Birthday back in 2006. This is my fourth pair of G-Star jeans to date, and I can till remember vividly how I bought my first pair. It was in early 2005 when I was shopping alone in Paragon and I happen to walk into G-Star. After which, I started trying out different types of jeans until I came across one with very unique material and texture. The material was really different (as in that pair’s material was quite thin and it really did not have the bulky feeling that most denim clothing have). I must say it was an impulse buy, and I only realised the price ($328) at the counter!!
Since then, I would usually buy jeans / denim products from G-Star because of the quality they offer. On their designs: I felt the designs were more of my taste in the past, especially the range of upper-body wear. Fortunately their jeans still look as good as they used to.
My Favourite Chinese Album in the Year 2007! December 29, 2007

2007 has been an amazing year in Chinese Music, with many artistes switching record companies, setting up their own companies etc. After listening to a lot of great albums this year, I have decided that A*mei Zhang Hui Mei’s ”Star” album is my favourite of 2007!
The Taiwanese diva has put out many great albums to date and “Star” is definitely one of them. The album covers a range of songs, including jazz, R&B, pop, disco etc. and it really reinforces her status as a “Star”. Of all the tracks, I particularly like “You Do Love Me” or “ 你是愛我的”. It has the essence of a classic A*mei style ballad, and her delivery is just perfect! Another outstanding track would be “Don’t Sail Away”, which I think is an original English Song. Pronunciation aside, I think she captured the feel of the song, and it really grows on you after a few spins. In addition, there is also a super duet with a “newbie” Xiao Jing Teng, 蕭敬騰, in the song “A Moment” or “一眼瞬間”. Lastly, I would have to say that all the songs are just great, and if you have not gotten the album, you have to get it!
Anyway, A*Mei has had a great year, after parting with Warner Music Taiwan and joining EMI Music Taiwan, getting quite a number of endorsement deals, for example Taiwan Beer, and MAC launched a series of cosmetic products in collaboration with A*mei! She also launched her “Star World Tour” in November, beginning in Shanghai, and going to places in Southeast Asia, United States, Taiwan and so on. It was mentioned that the last stop would be in Hong Kong in early 2009. For the first half of next year (2008), she would also be involved in a Japanese Musical (visit this site for more information about the musical : www.turan.jp ).
Hope that she will release another amazing album next year, and I cannot wait to watch her perform live again!

Can’t believe I would start off my second post talking about my grades! I have never gotten so much Bs in my life, but all in all I think I am quite satisfied with my grades. Still had 1 A+ and 2 A- fortunately, and my GPA adds up to barely 4 by my own calculation. Well, maybe it reflects the way I do things now: less of competing with others, and more of doing things the way I like, and learning to like what I am learning. Anyway, time to include new things in my new year resolutions list, to score better so that I can go for overseas exchange programmes!

My first blog ever! Never really thought of having one until now, in view of my declining ability to put down my thoughts into words, or rather, proper sentences. I think my sentences really speak for themselves. Long gone are the days where we had to hand in General Paper (GP) essays every once in a week to keep our standards in check. Really miss those days though, as much as I hated them previously. It is now time to remember what I learnt from GP lessons and put them to good use!
